Of Counsel, Head of Client Management and Client Relations
Carlos E. Carrillo serves as Of Counsel at The MTM Law Firm PLLC, where he leads client management and client relations. With more than three decades of legal experience in Florida, Carlos is the attorney who ensures that every client feels heard, informed, and supported throughout the probate and estate planning process. While Matthew Morrison leads the firm’s courtroom strategy, Carlos is the guiding hand for everything that happens outside the courtroom.
Education and Credentials
Carlos earned his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and has been a licensed member of The Florida Bar since 1994 (FL Bar No. 4456). Over the course of 32 years in practice, he has built deep experience in the client-facing dimensions of probate and estate law, developing a keen understanding of how to communicate complex legal concepts in terms that families can understand and act on.
Practice Focus and Approach
Carlos’s role at the firm reflects a deliberate philosophy: probate clients deserve more than legal filings and court dates. They deserve an attorney who takes the time to explain the process, answer every question, and address the personal concerns that inevitably arise when a family is dealing with the loss of a loved one or planning for the future.
In Carlos’s experience, many of the challenges families encounter during probate stem not from courtroom disputes, but from misunderstandings, communication gaps, and the emotional weight of the process itself. His focus is on managing those human elements so clients can move forward with confidence. He works closely with families on probate administration, estate planning, and the many out-of-court steps that keep a case on track.
What Clients Can Expect
Clients working with Carlos can expect a calm, patient, and thorough approach. He is often the first point of contact for families reaching out to the firm and takes pride in building relationships grounded in trust and transparency. Whether a client needs help gathering documents for probate, understanding their responsibilities as a personal representative, or navigating family dynamics during estate administration, Carlos provides steady guidance at every step.
The MTM Law Firm’s remote consultation model means Carlos can connect with clients across Florida without requiring them to travel. For families in Polk County, Hillsborough County, and throughout Central Florida, this accessibility is a meaningful part of the firm’s commitment to client-centered service.
Professional Standing
Carlos has maintained his membership in good standing with The Florida Bar for over three decades. His consistent record and long tenure in Florida’s legal community reflect his dedication to ethical, client-focused practice. He continues to serve families in Lakeland and across the state from The MTM Law Firm’s office on South Lakeland Drive.
